Parking Guidelines

The Palmetto Dunes Board of Directors has issued parking space guidelines due to some possible misunderstandings of the intended use of the “visitor” parking spaces located at the end of each of the 39 buildings in Palmetto Dunes.

The “Good Neighbor Practices” rely primarily on common courtesy and common sense and it’s hoped that both will prevail in the instances of “sharing” this important, but limited amenity, especially during the winter season.

Good Neighbor Practices For Sharing of Guest Parking Spaces:

  • During the high season, a resident or guest may have to walk for a short distance to another parking space not next to his/her building to park. However, we encourage each resident to be aware of other residents having guests and possibly park a building or two away from your usual space. Just because you do not live in a certain building does not mean you cannot park in a vacant space.

  • The “visitor” parking spots, at the end of each building, are owned by the Palmetto Dunes Condominium Association and are intended for use by “bona fide guests only” and are not owned, assigned, or reserved for any owner or unit.

  • Guest parking spots are to be “shared” by owners in a reasonably near proximity of the four adjacent units and the common driveways of those units. If spaces are available at any location within Palmetto Dunes, then the residents and/or guests may use these parking spots.

  • If one or more of the unit owners adjacent to the common driveways is not able to park a vehicle in the garage space provided, the four unit owners are encouraged to work out an understanding as to how the “guest space” might be utilized to accommodate the neighbor's need.

  • If you lease your unit or have family staying for long periods of time and need to leave vehicles, please park them elsewhere if your lease or family occupants need a parking space.

  • Should you have a vehicle you use only occasionally to tow a boat or for other purposes, we encourage you to park it at the common parking lot near the Oak Run pool. Additional spaces may be available near the River Club.

  • The PSG&RC documents allow for only two vehicles to be registered by each owner. Sanctions will be issued to those keeping more than two vehicles and/or vehicles not properly registered with the club or having a valid motor vehicle tag.

  • Parking a golf cart in a parking space is strictly prohibited and is not to be used to “reserve” a space.

Your board requests that all unit owners respect others with parking needs, especially when visitors are present and use good common courtesy and common sense.

Please respect your neighbors and they will respect you.
